0
SSR
MINING
39. Although the Elkton.Pit has been removed from AM14, to close out this adequacy item for future
reference, please amend the response to include details on when the Division will receive the weekly
reports and specify the EoR compile, summarize, and accept the entirety of mine placed pit backfill
activities in the associated VLF ROC report.
Although Elkton Pit has been removed from AM14 and no backfill is required under this submittal, if future
backfilling is permitted and approved, CC&V will provide weekly reports documenting backhlling activities
completed for the week prior. The EoR will compile, summarize and formally accept all mine placed backfill
activities, which will be included in the CQA report.
43. The Division's adequacy item was not intended to request a specific location for the PSSA pond
level piezometer(s). Please update Section 4.4.3. High -Volume Solution Collection Recovery System to
discuss the installation of a PSSA pond level piezometer(s) which will be placed away from the HVSCS
for monitoring the capacity compliance limit and will be tested/modeled/calibrated/etc. to address the
effect of the draw -down from the pumps. Please ensure that the "contingent upon feasibility" comment
is removed from the design report.
Please see the revised Section 4.4.3. High -Volume Solution Collection Recovery System (Attachment 2).
51. Please expand the response if the EoR will be included on the review and field survey that CC&V
and the contractor will perform prior to commencement of construction.
The EoR will participate in the review and field survey prior to commencement of construction.
52. Regardless of the intent of providing Drawing A004-A006, all Surface Disturbance ID sites located
within the footprint of AM14 expansions areas need to be clearly identified on Drawings A004-A006
Table of Historical Underground Workings (highlight row, bold row border/text, clarified in a
new/separate column, etc.).
Please see the revised drawings A004-A006 (Attachment 3). Historical Underground Workings within the
footprint of the AM-14 expansion have been highlighted in yellow.
54. Please discuss if VLF1 LDS 12 and 13 will need to be relocated and update Drawing A014 VLF1
Phase 6 Stage A Grading Plan as appropriate.
Please see the revised A014 VLF1 Phase 6 Grading Plan (Attachment 3).
56. As the Elkton Pit has been removed from AM14, please revise Drawing A016 to now exclude the
added limits of the Elkton Pit.
Please see the revised drawing A016 (Attachment 3).
64. The response concludes with a statement that the final design of containment berms and drop
structure will be included in final engineering designs. Please commit to providing the Division with
these final designs to determine if further permitting will be necessary.
CC&V commits to providing the Division with the final designs of containment berms and drop structures to
determine if additional permitting will be required, prior to construction.
SSR Mining Inc.
