Ref.Page No. M2009-006 00072
1,780'x 35').
Vegetation Plan. The Subject Property is located in an area having approximately 12
inches of annual precipitation (See also Exhibit K). Timing to replant the site is critical
to vegetation establishment success. Seeding of the site will be done in the fall prior to
the soil freezing. Seed drilling will be performed following the contour, avoiding drilling
up and down the slopes, which would increase the risk or erosion. The planting depth
should be approximately'h inch. If the seed is broadcast instead of drilled, the seed rate
must be doubled. If broadcast, the area needs to be harrowed or dragged after the seed
is spread to incorporate the seed into the soil.
For disturbed areas, the reclamation plan includes re-vegetating with appropriate seed
mixes to minimize erosion and reestablish native grasses. Seeding and vegetation is
described in Exhibit L"Reclamation Costs." The following measures will be taken to re-
vegetate the site as they are applicable.
• The thickness of the plant growth should be equal to or better than the surrounding
growth to establish the quality and quantity desired. (See Exhibit 1, Custom soils
report for Larimer County Area, Meadow Hollow Quarry).
• The site will be seeded on an ongoing reclamation program. Topsoil will be replaced
and seeded as it is determined that an is depleted and it will not be disturbed by
machinery. Seeding will be done in the spring and late fall. Top soil will be spread
onto the reclamation site; top soil will be spread carefully to allow oxygen in and to
prevent compaction. Soil will be tested to indicate the amount and type of fertilizer
needed. (See exhibit I, custom soils report for Larimer County Area. Colorado,
Meadow Hollow Quarry for types and amount of PLS/acre.
• Broadcast seeding and hydroseeding will be used depending on site conditions.
Erosion control measures will be utilized as slope grade conditions require.
• Target vegetation cover will be at least 70% of pre-mining cover within three (3)years
or commencement of reclamation. Vegetation adoption will be monitored for a
period of five (5) years to ensure appropriate stability and growth for the area. If
vegetation does not establish within two growing seasons additional seeding will
occur.
• Reclaimed areas will be posted with signage as appropriate to identified reclaimed
areas and advise of access restrictions.
Water Management& Erosion Control. There should be no hydrologic disturbance or
off-site water damage as the work deck is porous and absorbs all run-off. The operation
will not affect groundwater quality on or off the site. The operation will comply with
groundwater quality standards. Due to the absence of sources of potential pollutants,
groundwater quality monitoring is not required in this operation. The drainage will
