Ref.Page No. M2009-006 00073
primarily have the same direction as the pre mining, which is primarily in an east-
southeast direction.
Runoff and erosion control will be employed as needed on the Affected Land. Extracted
mined materials stockpiles may be maintained on the south and southeast of the
Subject Property. While no sediment dispersion in expected from runoff, as a
precaution a sediment retention berm will be constructed (see ExhibitD, Image D-2, of
this Application). In the event that drainage or runoff should present any issue,
vegetation will be prioritized on those slopes or areas.
Wildlife & Habitat Restoration. The reclamation activities will be planned considering
the safety and protection of wildlife on the property. There is anticipated minimal effect
on wildlife from mining operations. Although some species may be temporarily
displaced by the mining activities, these species are expected to re-establish with no
difficulty after the reclamation has been completed. Tree and shrub plantings may be
introduced to enhance habitat for birds and small mammals. See also Exhibit H of this
Application.)
Financial Warranty& Reclamation Cost Estimate. A financial warranty in compliance with
DRMS regulations will be submitted to cover the estimated cost of reclamation. Cost estimates will
be based on:
• Earthmoving and grading costs;
• Topsoil replacement and seeding; and
• Monitoring and maintenance expenses.
Reclamation costs are detailed in Exhibit L to this Application. Reclamation will be deemed
successful when vegetation meets established success criteria, erosion is controlled, and the site is
safe for its designated post-mining land use.
Rest of page intentionally left blank.
