At this point mining will commence in the South Section beginning in Unit F. Topsoil from Unit
F will be live-handled to Unit E and mining will progress in a clockwise direction to Unit G and
then south to Unit K before turning North again to head back to Unit P. Once mining is completed
in Unit P,topsoil that was stockpiled during mining of Units A and B will be used to reclaim Unit
P and then ultimately Unit A.
(b)Earthmoving.
In addition to the earthmoving described in section (a) above, earthmoving will be limited to
replacing topsoil, along with grading and leveling the same.
(c)All water diversions and impoundments.
No water will be diverted or impounded as a result of the operation. During mining, given the
porous nature of the substratum, any storm water that falls directly on the site is expected to
infiltrate back into the ground within 72 hours of a storm event.
(d) The size of area(s)to be worked at any one time.
Applicant intends to actively mine approximately 10 acres at a time. However, there will also
be 10 acres of active topsoil stripping, 10 acres being regraded and 10 acres being re-topsoiled
and re-seeded. In the active mining area as mining advances, reclamation will be occurring
contemporaneously so as to minimize the amount of maximum disturbance to 50 acres plus an
ever-expanding area that has been fully reclaimed. This is in addition to 20 acres in Unit A that
will not be reclaimed until the entire site has been mined out. Therefore, for bonding purposes,
70 acres will be the maximum area disturbed at any given time. This breaks down to 20 acres
in Unit A,40 acres in the active mining area and 10 acres that have been seeded and are in the
initial state of emergence and establishment. The haul road will be constructed as mining
advances and reclaimed as reclamation occurs, therefore, costs to reclaim this road are included
in reclamation of each unit.
(e)An approximate timetable to describe the mining operation.
(i)An estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various stages or
phases of the operation.
It is expected that each Unit of mining will take 3 months to 1 year to complete, therefore,
based on expected market conditions and estimated reserves, it will take 5-12 years to
complete mining at this site.
(ii)A description of the size and location of each area to be worked during each phase.
As described above, the applicant intends to mine approximately 10 acres at a time in
addition to 10 acres of topsoil stripping, 10 acres of regrading, 10 acres of replaced and
reseeded topsoil and 10 acres that have received final seeding and awaiting vegetative
establishment See attached Plan Sheets (Exhibits D-1-D-8).
CoProp LLC—Rodeo Dunes Mine Page 3 of 5
Construction Materials Regular Operation(112(c))Reclamation Permit Application Form
