quickly move to adjacent areas and back into the area once it is
• reclaimed.
No major disturbance to the existing topography is planned. During the
life of the loadout facility, the limited topographical disturbance will
probably not have any measurable impacts on any wildlife in the area
because of the limited acreages of disturbance involved. Following
discontinuance of the loadout use, the area will be restored to a
topography as shown on the Post-Disturbance Topography Map (Map 10).
Wildlife utilizing the immediate area of disturbance will probably be
displaced during loadout activities. This displacement will probably
not produce any negative impacts on the adjacent range due to the small
size of disturbance associated with the loadout facilities. The area to
be disturbed by the loadout facility is minimal, and the ability of the
area to support much wildlife is also limited.
No State or Federally listed threatened or endangered fish and wildlife
species have been reported to occupy the area of planned loadout
facilities; therefore, impacts on such species will not occur.
Because of the small extent of surface disturbance to be caused at TCC
loadout facility and its significant distance from any intermittent or
perennial drainages, the impact of the activities on the aquatic
communities of the North Fork of the Gunnison River will be minimal. A
detailed sediment and drainage control plan will be implemented so that
any discharge from the disturbed area will meet the applicable effluent
limitations required under an NPDES permit from the Colorado Department
of Health, Water Quality Division.
Protection of Hydrologic Balance
General Requirements
• TCC loadout activities will be conducted to minimize changes in the
prevailing hydrologic balance in both the immediate site and adjacent
2.05-19
