situations initial response and first aid will be available by qualified onsite personnel. <br /> 14 <br /> The following will be considered emergency situations: <br /> • Fire/Explosion <br /> • Release of Hazardous substances <br /> • Accident/Injury <br /> • Criminal Acts <br /> • Natural Phenomena <br /> • Medical and Casualty incidents <br /> For purposes of the McCollum's Excavating Emergency Action Plan, the project's <br /> Operations Manager is designated as the Local Emergency Coordinator. In case of a <br /> hazardous materials emergency, the Operations Manager or senior onsite supervisor will <br /> assume full control of the situation until the arrival of emergency responders. The <br /> Operations Manager and SSO will report to the Command Post and work with emergency <br /> response teams to identify and evaluate hazards. Emergency responses and <br /> communications will be coordinated and controlled through the onsite Incident <br /> Commander. <br /> Communications equipment <br /> Emergency Equipment and Supplies <br /> McCollum's Excavating shall provide at least one first aid kit complying with 29 CFR <br /> 1926.50(d)(I), portable fire extinguishers with a 2A:IOBC rating. First aid kit locations <br /> shall be specially marked and provided with adequate water and other supplies necessary <br /> to cleanse and decontaminate minor burns, wounds, or lesions. Chemical fire <br /> extinguishers with a 2A-IOB:C rating shall be located on each piece of heavy equipment, <br /> near any portable diesel or gasoline fueling tank, and at the site administrative area. <br /> Procedures for Handling Emergencies <br /> In the event of an emergency, the information available at the time must be properly <br /> evaluated and the appropriate steps taken to implement the emergency response plan. The <br /> Operations Manager or senior onsite supervisor will assume command of the situation <br /> and will: <br /> - call 911 from an available phone, <br /> - evacuate personnel as needed, and <br /> - take other steps as necessary to gain control of the situation. <br /> BEC Mine Closure Project August 8, 2022 <br />
