Reviewing this project SHEAP, and signing the acceptance form(s). <br /> 4 <br /> The Site Health and Safety Officer (SHSO), is responsible for implementing the project <br /> site Safety, Health and Emergency Action Plan (SHEAP). In the event of his absence <br /> from the property during normal working hours, the Site Safety Coordinator will <br /> implement the Plan. <br /> 3.0 HEALTH AND SAFETY HAZARDS <br /> Physical Hazards <br /> Physical hazards associated with excavation, demolition, earthmoving, and other <br /> construction/removal activities pose a significant potential for injury in addition to <br /> potential for chemical exposure. Employees and other subcontractors shall be aware of <br /> physical hazards associated with the removal activities and implement all applicable <br /> health and safety practices. <br /> As discussed in the following subsections, physical hazards can be posed by: <br /> • Heavy Equipment and Horse Safety <br /> • Weather <br /> • Slip, Trip and Fall/Uneven Walking and Working Surfaces <br /> • Fire <br /> Injuries that may result from these physical hazards can range from simple slip-trip-fall <br /> types of accidents to casualties, including fatalities due to moving equipment and horses. <br /> Injuries resulting from physical hazards can be avoided through the adoption of safe work <br /> practices and employing caution when working with machinery and horses. <br /> All personnel shall be conscious of their work environment and should notify the <br /> appropriate supervisory personnel of any unsafe conditions and will ensure that all site <br /> workers are informed of any physical hazards related to the site. All personnel should <br /> also familiarize themselves with other subcontractors' safety procedures. <br /> Helicopter Safety <br /> A helicopter will be used to haul in the puf needed and remove the crusher and <br /> miscellaneous equipment left. All safety concerns will be addressed by having a safety <br /> meeting with the pilot prior to the job. All employees will be briefed on their individual <br /> jobs and risks associated with it. There will be a predetermined landing area that will be <br /> used for staging. <br /> Heavy Equipment <br /> BEC Mine Closure Project August 8, 2022 <br />
