ITEM 8.3 CONSTRUCT DIVERSION DITCH <br /> Runoff flows will be directed to the sediment pond by small ditches measuring no deeper than <br /> two feet (2') with side slopes no steeper than 21-1: 1V from both the Gold Run and the River <br /> Levels. PROJECT MANAGER will flag the center line of all ditches in the field prior to <br /> construction. Flows from the Gold Run Level will be directed into a ditch cut where the toe of <br /> the hill meets the existing road, leading down to the River Level and the sediment pond <br /> approximately five hundred (500') linear feet. The regrading of the river level to a minimum 51-1: <br /> 1V will direct flow toward the sediment pond. Approximately two hundred (200') linear feet of <br /> ditch with the same specifications as above will be constructed along the southern edge of the <br /> River Level, running parallel to East Mancos Creek leading to the sediment pond will be <br /> constructed. <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Payment will be per lineal foot of diversion ditch constructed. Payment shall include ditch <br /> construction and will be measured to the nearest linear foot and paid at the unit price under Item <br /> 8.3 of the Bid Schedule and will be made at the completion of the task and upon approval by the <br /> PROJECT MANAGER. The price bid shall include all equipment, materials, labor, and all other <br /> items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks described in Item 8.3. <br /> ITEM 9.0 REVEGETATION <br /> All areas specified by the PROJECT MANAGER will be revegetated in accordance with the <br /> SWS 20, in the 2009 General Bid Specifications. Approximately one half(5) acre will need to <br /> be revegetated. Commercial fertilizer is not required for this item. Mulch will be supplied by the <br /> CONTRACTOR. Seed will be supplied by OWNER. Ponderosa Pine/Spruce/Fir vegetation <br /> mix will be used. This task will be done by broadcast seeding or drilled seeding. <br /> Certified weed free straw mulch will be applied by hand or mechanically at a rate of two <br /> thousand (2000) pounds per acre. CONTRACTOR must supply certification of weed free straw. <br /> Straw mulch is to be hand crimped into place upon completion of application. No vehicle traffic <br /> is permitted over revegetated areas upon completion of Item 9.0 <br /> Measurement and Payment <br /> Measurement and payment for this task will be as per revegetation specification, SWS 20, of the <br /> 2009 General Bid Specifications. Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest tenth (0.1) <br /> acre and paid at the unit price bid on the Bid Schedule under Item 9.0 The price bid shall <br /> include all costs for labor, materials, equipment, and all other items necessary and incidental to <br /> complete the tasks as described in Item 9.0. Payment will be made upon completion of the <br /> described task and approval by the PROJECT MANAGER. <br /> Additional Bid Items <br /> These additional Bid Items are included on the Bid Schedule. These Bid Items are not <br /> guaranteed, and will only be used if required and only if approved by the PROJECT <br /> MANAGER. <br /> 14 <br />
