Measure and Payment
There will be no measurement for payment for this task. Payment shall be for the lump sum bid
price under Item 8.1 of the Bid Schedule and will be made at the completion of the task and
upon approval by the PROJECT MANAGER. The price bid shall include all equipment,
materials, labor, and all other items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks described in
Item 8.1.
ITEM 8.2 GRADE/ ROUGHEN
The Gold Run and River Levels have large semi flat areas prone to erosion by surface runoff
and overland flow. The area to be graded at the Gold Run Level extends from near the portal to
the start of the access road leading to the River Level, the entire width of the semi flattened
Gold Run Level working area. (See site map) The River Level area to be graded stretches from
where the access road from the Gold Run Level intersects the large semi flat working area and
extends up gradient to the rear access road, the entire width of the semi flat River Level working
area (See site map). PROJECT MANAGER will delineate the areas to be regarded at the time
of construction.
Regrading to a minimum slope configuration no steeper than 5H:1V followed by intensive
surface roughening will then be employed to minimize surface erosion, reduce sediment
transport and develop conditions that will better promote vegetative growth on the Gold Run and
River levels.
Gouges will be created in the surface using an excavator bucket. Bucket size shall not exceed
three feet (3') in width and the depth of the gouges shall be between twelve inches (12") and
eighteen inches (18") deep. The gouges shall span the entire width of the regraded area from
edge to edge with the pattern alternating between each row. Gouges must be placed close
enough so that no more than eighteen inches (18") exist between any two gouges, in any
direction, both vertical and horizontal.
On all roads within the permit boundary area (see site map) angled rips will be created to divert
overland flow into the ditches and roughen the area for revegetation. Area to be ripped will be
delineated by PROJECT MANAGER in the field prior to construction. Rips will be between six
to ten inches (6-10") averaging eight inches (8") deep and angle upslope, towards the edge of
the road at a forty five degree (450) angle. No vehicle traffic will be permitted over areas that
have been ripped and/ or gouged.
Measure and Payment
Payment will be per acre affected by this Task. Payment shall include grading and roughening.
This task will be measured to the nearest one tenth (0.1) acre and paid at the unit price under
Item 8.2 of the Bid Schedule and will be made at the completion of the task and upon approval
by the PROJECT MANAGER. The price bid shall include all equipment, materials, labor, and all
other items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks described in Item 8.2.
13
