Blast purpose—what product is expected (e.g., riprap, crushed aggregate, etc.); Create reclamation fill
materials.
ii. Number, spacing, diameter and depth of holes;
Number of holes per blast event will range from 30 to 300 holes in a blast. (see above item f).
iii.Type and amount of stemming material; On-site crushed granite placed into each blast hole per individual
blast designs.
iv. Blasting agent and amount per hole;
A chemically sensitized pumped emulsion (Titan 1000), packaged emulsion (Blastex/Blastgel) or ANFO
(ammonium nitrate fuel oil) will be used as the blasting agent. Access to the pattern will determine whether
bulk loading or hand loading operations will be used. The amount of explosives loaded into each blast hole will
be determined per the diameter and the depth of the blast holes and the distance(s)to the nearest non-
owned structure(s). More accurate calculations can be made after the blast area dimensions and depths are
established and the drilling parameters are set.
v.Type of delay detonator and delay periods expected.
DigiShot (electronic) or Nonel (non-electric) EZ Det detonators will be used to prime each blast hole. Electronic
delays will typically range from Oms to 250ms. Nonel EZTL surface delays will be utilized in 9ms, 17ms, 25ms,
42ms or 67ms delay periods.
g. Location(s) of blast monitoring. East side of blast area(s). West boundary of nearest homes/structures.
IV. Commit to Generating and Filing a Blast Report—The DRMS requires all Operators using explosives to
complete a blasting report for each shot.
Buckley Powder Company will generate a Blast Report for each blast event per the following DRMS
requirements. See attached copy of a generic Blast Report using Buckley Powder Company/Dyno Nobel
"Nobel Fire" reporting system. Parameters a. -o. (below) are included in Blast Reports.
The report must be retained by the Operator for at least 3 years and be available for inspection by the DRMS
on demand.The record shall contain the following data, but should not be submitted as part of the Blasting
Plan:
a. Location date and time of blast; Location and dates of blasting will be determined by operator. Blast times
will range from 9 AM—30 minutes prior to sundown.
b. Name, signature and license number of blaster-in-charge;
c. Identification, direction and distance in feet from the nearest blast hole to the nearest
potentially affected structure, such as any dwelling, school, church, or community or
institutional building either:
2
