♦ ERC Aquatic Resource
Pit Project Site
Delineation Report
February 17,2023
;W
x,
Photo 11. Overview facing west of Aquatic Resource C, a Photo 12. Overview facing east of Aquatic Resource C, a
topographical depression, within a ditch in the southern portion topographical depression within a ditch in the southern
of the survey area. This ditch and topographical depression are portion of the survey area. Broad leaf cattail dominates with
likely filled with irrigation water during the growing season. a ruderal upland herbaceous understory.
AQUATIC RESOURCE D (0.005 ACRES)
Aquatic Resources D is a topographical depression in the southeast corner of the survey area. The
topographical depression contains a palustrine emergent nonpersistent seasonally flooded (PEM1A)
wetland habitat. The topographical depression is surrounded by higher elevation upland habitat and
bound to the north, east, south and west. It appears hydrology within the topographical depression is
primarily supported by surface water run-off as well as irrigation run-off from the agricultural field within
the survey area.A direct surface water connection to other Waters of the U.S.was not observed.
The topographical depression was delineated based on the presence of hydrophytic vegetation, hydric
soils, and indicators of hydrology.
The vegetation within the topographical depression contains broad leaf cattail (Typha latifolio), reed
canary grass (Phalaris arundinoceo) and smooth brome. The dominate species within the topographical
depression consist of hydrophytic species (FAC-FACW).
Soils within the topographical depression are generally sandy loam in texture, meeting the criteria for
hydric soil indicator F8 (Redox Depressions). At the time of the delineation, primary wetland hydrology
indicator C3 (Oxidized Rhizospheres on Living Roots) was observed within the topographical depression.
Additionally, secondary hydrology indicators included D2 (Geomorphic Position).
Aquatic Resource D comprises a total of 0.005-acre within the survey area (Appendix A). Refer to photos
13-14 below for characteristics within Aquatic Resource D.
