Bernhardt Pit Project Site
Aquatic Resource Delineation Report
February 17,2023
-7
tr j
Photo 9. Overview facing west of Aquatic Resource B, a Photo 10. Overview facing east of Aquatic Resource B, a
topographical depression within the southwestern corner of the topographical depression within the southwest corner of the
survey area. This topographical depression is likely filled with survey area.Broad leaf cattail present with a ruderal upland
irrigation water during the growing season. herbaceous understory.
AQUATIC RESOURCE C(0.012 ACRES)
Aquatic Resources C is a topographical depression within a ditch along the southern boundary of the
survey area. The depression contains a PEM1A wetland habitat. The topographical depression is situated
in a ditch which is located between the survey area agricultural field, and a separate agricultural field to
the south. Both agricultural fields bound Aquatic Resource C to the north and south. The topographical
depression appears to be the lowest spot contained within the ditch and appears hydrology is primarily
supported by surface water run-off as well as irrigation run-off from both surrounding agricultural fields.
A direct surface water connection to other Waters of the U.S.was not observed.
The topographical depression was delineated based on the presence of hydrophytic vegetation, hydric
soils and hydrology.
The vegetation within the topographical depression contains primarily broad leaf cattail and cheatgrass.
The dominate species within the topographical depression consist of hydrophytic species (FAC-FACW).
Soils within the topographical depression are generally sandy gravelly loam in texture, meeting the criteria
for hydric soil indicator F8(Redox Depressions). At the time of the delineation, primary wetland hydrology
indicator C3 (Oxidized Rhizospheres on Living Roots) was observed. Additionally, secondary hydrology
indicators included D2 (Geomorphic Position).
Aquatic Resource C comprises a total of 0.012-acre within the survey area (Appendix A). Refer to photos
11-12 below for characteristics within Aquatic Resource C.
