LONDON MINE
M-2023-015
Exhibit C—Rule 6.3.3
Mining Plan
This operation will only involve pre-existing waste rock and activities on pre-disturbed land. The existing
waste rock contains low-grade gold and silver ore which the operator proposes to extract by sorting and
remove from the site to be further processed at a permitted site elsewhere. This plan is limited to
handling pre-mined materials. All of the sites have been affected by prior mining-related activity;there
is no topsoil to salvage for reclamation.
Mining is estimated to begin in June 2023 and cease in June 2026.
The permit area consists of two separate parcels: an upper waste rock area (termed the South London
Stockpile area)where much of the existing waste rock to be sorted will be removed from; and a lower
area (the Central Extension and Sorting Plant area) which also contains old waste rock and where the
waste rock will be sorted for mineral values with stationary equipment set up for this purpose.
The site areas are accessible by existing county/forest roads and private roads. All material hauling
between sites will be on existing roads, and all hauling of materials off the site for final processing will be
on existing roads. No significant road improvement(such as widening, realigning or changing the grade)
is needed, so no road areas are included in the 9.9 acres of permit area. During the operation roadways
will be maintained adequately, and all necessary drainage and erosion controls will be implemented and
monitored.
The South London Stockpile is a 3.9-acre pre-law waste rock dump that was placed on the native slope.
This piece of the permitted area is defined by and will completely encompass the waste rock pile. When
the mining operation is finished, the entire waste rock dump will be gone, exposing the former native
hillslope surface. Throughout the operation, all necessary drainage and erosion controls will be
implemented and monitored. There are no structures or underground openings in this piece of the
permit area.
The Central Extension and Sorting Plant area of the permit contains 6.00 acres; all of it has been affected
by historic mining-related or contemporary remediation activities. Within this part of the permit area
currently there are roadways, structures, level pad areas, a runoff control pond, and waste rock dumps.
The immediately surrounding land is also host to these same types of features and disturbances, but
activity under this permit will be carefully limited to only the permitted land.
The Sorting Plant area is served by overhead electric. Power needed for the stationary equipment and
onsite buildings will be provided by this electric service or by onsite diesel generation. Fuel, lube and
other fluids will be stored offsite, on MineWater's adjoining properties, and delivered to the site when
needed. Spill mitigation materials will be provided.
