There were no observations of <br /> erosional features or indications of instability on the cell's embankments. The outlet at the Last Chance "Pond <br /> was covered with snow. The channel appeared stable. <br /> There are two ponds located to the north of the Slot Storage facility. Both the SS-1 and SS-2 ponds were buried in <br /> snow. The embankments of the ponds were stable with no erosional features noted. <br /> The raw Water Lagoon was frozen and mostly covered with snow during the inspection. The pond's embankment <br /> was stable with no erosional features identified. <br /> PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES—Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br /> Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> The RP-A refuse pile was inactive during the inspection(Photo 3). Refuse material on the top of the pile <br /> was placed in windrows to allow for the material to dry. Much of the pile was covered with snow. No erosional <br /> features or indications of instability were observed. Refuse was being hauled to the RP-5a pile during the <br /> inspection. Material placed on the pile was organized into windrows before being spread out and compacted. The <br /> slopes of the pile were covered with snow. There were no indications of instability or erosion observed. The RP- <br /> 2/3/4 was partly covered with snow. Refuse on the top of the pile was placed in windrows. The slopes of the pile <br /> were covered in snow. No signs of instability or erosion were seen. <br /> ROADS—Rule 4.03 <br /> Construction 4.03.1(3)/4.03.2(3), Drainage 4.03.1(4)/4.03.2(4), Surfacing and Maintenance4.03.1(5)and <br /> (6)/4.03.2(5) and(6), Reclamation 4.03.1(7)/4.03.2(7): <br /> During the inspection the haul road was plowed and clear of snow. The road was wet and muddy from <br /> snowmelt. There were no sections of the road that were unstable or rutted from traffic. No erosional concerns <br /> were identified. Most access roads throughout the mine site had been plowed. Access roads were still covered <br /> with a couple inches of snow,but not inaccessible. These access roads were in good condition and no erosional <br /> features were noted. <br /> SUPPORT FACILITIES -Rule 4.04: <br /> The main facilities/portals area was well kept and drainage was flowing to the DP-1 pond. The pads on <br /> the benches were muddy but in good repair. There were no erosional concerns identified. The slopes of the <br /> benches were covered with snow. There were no indications of instability. The fuel storage tanks were located on <br /> the entrance to the middle bench. The tanks are located within a containment berm. The berm was snow covered <br /> and stable. <br /> Three vent shaft pads were visited during the inspection. The B Seam Vent shaft No. 1,the B Seam Vent Shaft <br /> No. 3 (Photo 4) and the West Mains Vent Shaft(Photo 5). Safety fences were observed to be intact and <br /> surrounded the vent shafts. The pads for the vent shafts were covered with snow.
