There isn't a temporary seed mix proposed at the site. The reference to the
timeline in Section 6.3.3.1 has been deleted.
22.Per Rule 6.4.5(2)(a) no discussion was provided as to the various types of
reclamation, why each was chosen, the amount of acreage accorded to each,
and a general discussion of methods of reclamation as related to the mechanics
of earthmoving.
Acreages and types of reclamation are provided in Figure 15 Exhibit E2. Discussion
of methods of reclamation as related to the mechanics of earthmoving is included
in Section 6.3.
23.Explicitly state the number of acres to be reclaimed as various types of land.
Note all affected lands must be reclaimed (if not water).
Acreages and types of reclamation are provided in Figure 15 Exhibit E2.
24.State the specific equipment type to be employed to achieve each task of
reclamation from cessation of mining to completion of final reclamation.
Reclamation activities will proceed in concert with the site development, weather
and season allowing (e.g. perimeter berms will be seeded for reclamation
immediately after construction, wetland fringes will be constructed around the
pond as extraction is completed and moves to another area of the site]. Specific
equipment used in each phase of development, including the reclamation process,
is listed in Section 5.2.1 through 5.2.23.
25.The need for soil decompaction is not addressed in the reclamation plan per
Rule 6.4.5(2)(d). State the total number of acres by mining phase that will
require soil decompaction. Note that areas under stockpiles to be revegetated
shall be decompacted prior to topsoil application and revegetation.
The nature of the proposed wet mining approach limits the need for
decompaction, since there is no long-term occupancy of the extraction area after
extraction has occurred (e.g. the area used to stockpile soil will be excavated for
the underlying aggregate material once the soils have been used or sold). The
Operations Area will not be reclaimed but will be retained by IHC Scott for long-
term equipment storage. No decompaction is proposed at the site.
26.Per Rule 6.4.5(2)(e)(i), (ii) and (iii), Provide a plan or schedule indicating how
and when reclamation will be implemented.
Schedule information is provided in Section 5.3, but also described throughout
Section 6, particularly Section 6.3. In summary, reclamation will proceed in
concert with the excavation.
27.This estimate shall be specific to the various stages or phase of reclamation.
Reclamation will proceed in concert with the excavation.
