2
Pond Creek is noted on the Mine Plan Map.
4. Describe what measures will be taken to:
o minimize disturbance to the hydrologic balance,
o prevent off-site damage,
o provide for a stable configuration of the reclaimed area consistent with the proposed
future land use.
5. Please state approximately what volume of water will be utilized for dust abatement and
where water will be purchased or obtained.
6. Describe the measures to be employed to divert upland drainage away from the site both
during and after operation.
Phone conversation on 22 July 2022,adequately addressed the above adequacy items.
6.4.5 Exhibit E Reclamation Plan
DRMS 13 July
It appears that reclamation will not begin until construction material has been depleted. Depletion is
anticipated as 10 years out or 2032. DRMS suggests that reclamation be contemporaneous. In other
words, as a section is excavated, and depleted of construction material it could be reclaimed to reduce
the size of the disturbed area and limit erosion.
DRMS notes that additional topsoil may be imported and that organic matter will be applied as a soil
amendment.
7. Please describe how and approximately when, topsoil and soil amendment will be applied to
the disturbed area.
8. Please also address the costs and volumes of imported topsoil and soil amendment.
DRMS understands that Lincoln County pays landowner by size of load taken out and may trade spoil
between owners for mulch offered by landowners.
Phone conversation on 22 July 2022,adequately addressed the above adequacy items.
DRMS notes Pond Creek depicted on the Mining Plan Map.
9. Please discuss how the stream will be protected from the mining operation.
Reseeding and revegetation were not adequately addressed in the reclamation plan. DRMS noted
only a reference to graminoids in Exhibit J. Also, a memo from Brian Johnson (MRCS), outlining
seed and seeding rates was not included in the submission as referenced in the Exhibit D (Mine Plan).
10. Please provide a list of preferred species of grass, legumes and forbs to be planted, the method
and rates of seeding and the proposed time of seeding and planting.
11. Please provide a schedule indication how and when reclamation will be implemented as pre
the different stages of the mining operation
6.4.6 Exhibit E Reclamation Plan Map
DRMS 13 July
DRMS is unsure what the black lines represent on the reclamation Plan map.
12. Please update the map with labels for these lines.
DRMS notes that Exhibit E was updated and provided to the Division adequately addressing the above mentioned
item.
Physical: 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 80203 P 303.866.3567 F 303.832.8106 Colo
Mailing: DRMS Room 215, 1001 E 62nd Ave, Denver, CO 80216 https://drms.colorado.gov `'` =
Jared S.
