<br />PART1-GENERAL <br />1.01 General <br />SECTION 02810 -TOPSOIL <br />This work shall consist of loading, hauling and spreading topsoil in accordance with <br />these Specifications and in reasonably close conformity with depths and limits <br />shown on the Drawings or established by the Engineer. <br />1.01 Job Conditions <br />A. Weather <br />If during the topsoiling operation either the weather or the topsoil become <br />unsuitable for spreading, operations shall cease and shall only be resumed <br />when authorized by the Engineer. <br />B. Scheduling <br />The Contractor shall plan his operations so that seeding or sodding of the <br />topsoiled areas shall be done within 15 days after the topsoil has been <br />spread. <br />~• PART 2 -PRODUCTS <br />- 2.01 Topsoil Materials <br />A. Topsoil shall be stockpiled from topsoil salvaged from material stripped <br />from the ground surface prior to excavation within the project limits. <br />B. It shall be free of refuse or any material toxic to plant growth. <br />C. It shall be reasonably free from subsoil, stumps, roots, brush, stones, clay <br />lumps or other similar objects larger than 3 inches in diameter. <br />D. It shall have demonstrated by evidence of healthy vegetation growing or <br />having grown on it, prior to stripping, that it is reasonably well drained and <br />does not contain substances toxic to plant life. <br />PART 3 -EXECUTION <br />3.01 Preparation <br />Before applying topsoil, the area to be topsoiled shall be graded and shaped in <br />reasonably close conformity to the grade and cross-section shown on the Drawings. <br />. 3.02 Installation <br />02810-1 <br />
