The work shall be done in accordance with these
Specifications and in conformity with the lines and grade shown on the plans or
established by the Engineer. Asphalt, broken concrete, concrete slabs or other
materials not classified as rock will not be allowed for use as riprap material or
gabion filler material.
~•
1.02 Types of Riprap
The types of riprap included in this Specification are noted below. The type, size
or other classifications of riprap to be placed will be noted on the plans. If no
classification is given, Class III will be used as specified in Part 2.02. Unless other-
wise specified on the plans or elsewhere in the Specifications, riprap placed in
accordance with the requirements for "Dumped Riprap" will be considered satis-
factory.
All types of riprap shall be placed on a prepared slope with an approved filter
media consisting of either a plastic filter fabric conforming to Part 2.04 of this
section or afree-draining granular filter blanket conforming to part 2.05 of this
section. Such rock, however, must be broken and graded to conform to the
- • specified gradations cited in Part 2.02 of this section. It appears that
adequate quantities of rock will be available from the road cut. However, if
on-site rock is not sufficient in quantity or quality an alternate source for
02540-1
