GROUNDWATER SAMPLING ANALYTE LIST
An independent, certified laboratory will analyze the groundwater samples. The analytical
results will be returned to NS for review and compilation. If any given water quality parameter
is deemed to have a reading that differs from historical baseline data, NS may require the
laboratory to re-analyze the parameter in question. If subsequent testing in the well indicates
additional elevated readings for the same parameter, NS will notify the BLM of the situation. If
the anomaly appears to be significant, the regional historical water-quality data from Solvay,
Shell E&P, C-b Tract, C-a Tract, WPX, TEP, and USGS may be utilized to determine the
significance of the anomaly. In addition, the data may be used to determine whether additional
sampling frequency and analyses are required. Water quality sampling will focus on the
affected aquifer at the nearest down-gradient monitoring well. Weekly manual water levels
may be obtained for wells sampled for water quality. One or all of the regulatory agencies—
BLM, DRMS, and EPA—will be consulted to develop site-specific rationale and monitoring
requirements, and will determine the extent and duration of subsequent monitoring.
Daub&Associates, Inc.
