ITEM 7 MIX WASTES,AMEND WITH LIMESTONE,AND PLACE
The off-site waste rock will be amended with limestone crusher fines already delivered to the site
in Bid Item 6. The combined materials will be amended by spreading the five cubic yards evenly
over the waste rock surface and incorporating the limestone to a depth of 12 inches (12")to
prevent the formation of acid and leaching of metals.
After the waste has been amended it will be placed in an area specified by the Project Manager
within the permit boundary and graded to match surrounding topography. The placed material
will not exceed a slope of 3:1.
It is estimated that as many as 500 cubic yards of material will be amended with limestone and
regraded within the permit boundary area.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for this task will be made at the unit price established in Item 7 of the Bid
Schedule. Measurement for payment will be made per cubic yard of waste amended with
limestone and placed in the mill foundation area. Payment for this task will be upon
completion of installation and upon approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. Such
payment shall be considered full compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all
other items necessary and incidental to the completion of the Bid Item.
ITEM 8 COVER WITH GROWTH MEDIA
The entire area where waste rock has either(1)been removed or(2)been placed will be covered
with two feet(2') of growth medium, which will consist of non-mined rock, native soil and other
colluvial materials present on site, which lack mineralization. The growth media will be
scavenged from already disturbed areas immediately adjacent(within 50— 100 feet)to the area
that is being covered.
The area that is expected to require cover material is 550 square feet. So, as many as 40 CY of
native material will be used to cover the area.
Measurement and Payment
Payment for this task will be made at the unit price established in Item 8 of the Bid
Schedule. Measurement for payment will be made per cubic yard of growth media placed
on disturbed areas. Payment for this task will be upon completion of installation and
upon approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. Such payment shall be considered full
compensation for all labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary and
incidental to the completion of the Bid Item.
