December 8, 2021 C-1981-019/Colowyo Coal Mine ZTT <br /> The embankment has since been returned,compacted and is stable. Silt fence has been installed at the base of the <br /> embankment repair as vegetation has not yet reestablished.No issues were observed with the Prospect Pond. <br /> The Section 28 pond was also inspected.The pond was dry with no issues. <br /> Ponds inspected that are associated with the Collom Pit include Section 25,Middle and Section 26.At the time of <br /> the inspection,the Section 25 was being pumped to remove water from the pond. The pond's primary spillway is <br /> being prepared for maintenance. As documented in Colowyo Mine's quarterly report,a small leak has been <br /> observed within the primary discharge pipe and will be sealed to ensure no further leaking occurs. Colowyo has <br /> discussed maintenance options with the Division during the inspection and the Division agrees with Colowyo's <br /> maintenance approach.Future documentation may be necessary based the best approach used for the repair of the <br /> primary discharge and Colowyo has agreed to keep the Division informed.At the time of the inspection,water <br /> levels are below the discharge pipe to ensure water stays within the pond and no issues were observed. The <br /> Sidehill Pond held no water at the time of the inspection and was stable.
