M-4 ACCESS, TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORTATION
See Traffic Study at Attachment M-4-A and Access Plan at Attachment M-4-B.
The existing ranch and access roads on-site are to be permanent,as requested by the landowner, and will be
maintained or replaced during and after mining. The landowner may also require additional roads to be constructed
during the later phases of mining/reclamation to accommodate future plans. (In addition, the landowner may continue
to do non-jurisdictional("non-mining")excavation and processing of construction materials, and stockpiles of materials,
after completion of mining and reclamation under DRMS jurisdiction. Such material would be used ONLY on the Dutton
Ranch contiguous property.)
Materials mined and processed at Oakbrush Hill Gravel will be processed on site and then transported by
truck to plants or construction sites for further processing and use. Material transported will use county highways, and
is not expected to increase traffic from county highway onto state highways by more than 5%of peak hour traffic at
any location.
Dutton
LandsNFS
Future
Possible
Mining
Plant & Stockpiles
t-t
w
Access and routes
All traffic to and from Oakbrush Hill Gravel will leave through FSR-650 to CR-600 (Piedra Road)
at milepost 3.785R, except for traffic internal to Dutton Ranch. Note: this is an existing road
originally built for USFS gravel-hauling and recently improved as a ranch access road to meet
current county requirements, and is NOT part of the affected area to be included in the reclamation
permit. The old alignment of FSR-650 crossing into the parcel to the Southwest(the Lemon Family
Residence) will NOT be used for access (see map above). Existing ranch roads to the Northeast
to other portions of the Dutton Ranch WILL be used for internal ranch traffic.
Trucks and other vehicles
A variety of trucks will be used to haul materials from the Pit, including single dump trucks, semi-
dump trucks, and trucks with pups. Most commonly used will be tandem dump trucks with pups
and semi-tractor/trailer rigs (multi-unit trucks). Average haul for all vehicles will be 24 tons per
C&J Gravel Products, Inc.
