Stormwater Management Plan
SITE SOIL,VEGETATION AND GENERAL DRAINAGE AND INFORMATION
Soils
The aggregate sites soils' beneath and adjacent to the site, as described USDA-Salida,Colorado District
office, were formed on glacial outwash sedimentary rock.. Leadville soil is very deep and well drained.
If formed in glacial outwash. Typically, the surface layer consisted of dark grayish brown sandy loam Iin
thick. The subsurface layer is pink stony sandy loam Tin thick. The subsoil is extremely stony clay loam
32in thick. The substratum is extremely stony loam to a depth of 60in or more. The soil is medium
acidic to a depth of 8in and slightly acidic and neutral below that depth. Permeability is moderately slow,
and available water capacity is moderate. Surface runoff from the exposed soil is medium to very rapid,
and the hazard of erosion of unprotected soil by water is moderate to extremely high.
Areas that have been historically cleared(roads, benches) show particularly good re-growth without
fertilizer or other amendments.Native soil is generally less than 6in thick. According to the Lake
County Soil Survey, Leadville sandy loam (LeE)is the only soil type that exists within the property's
drainage area.
Vegetation
Small areas have limited vegetation consisting of grasses.(See SWMP-Figure 2)
Drainage
There are no defined drainage channels, or rills within the CJK Aggregate's working area. If sheet wash
runoff occurs, water will flow into California Gulch. (Appendix 1 -Site Drainage Report.)
SITE ACTIVITIES
• Leadville Aggregate will operate 6 days a week(weather permitting)excluding major holidays.
• Winter road maintenance will include plowing,or storing, snow. ECMs such as rock berms, and
drains will be installed to control snow/stormwater runoff to mitigate offsite sedimentation
impacts.
• Maintenance will immediately commence following haul road upgrades.
See Appendix 1 A-Drainage Report
CJK SPECIALITY AGGREGATES
CIK Milling Company,LLC
Leadville,Colorado
