Stormwater Management Plan <br /> BACKGROUND <br /> The CJK SPECIALITY AGGREGATES(CJK Aggregates)is owned CJK Milling Company with <br /> corporate offices located in Evergreen,Colorado. and operated by Union Milling Contractors located in <br /> Littleton, Colorado. <br /> SITE DESCRIPTION <br /> The aggregate site occupies 56 acres located in Lake County,about 1.5 mi west of Leadville, Colorado. <br /> The site is located on the Leadville South Quadrangle USGS 7.5 quadrangle map. (See Figure <br /> SWMP-I) The aggregate property is accessed by Highway 24 where the permit boundary is less <br /> than 50 feet (ft) from the highway. The property is located at N39°14'00.30"and <br /> W 106019'09.83" at an elevation of 9,814ft(Southwest Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of <br /> Section 27 Township 9 South, Range 80 West of the 6th Principal Meridian, Lake County <br /> Colorado. (See Figure SWMP-2). The property is bounded on the west by the Leadville <br /> Sanitation District Facility and on the north, east, and south, by lands zoned Industrial/Mining <br /> (IM). <br /> Facility <br /> No mine pits will be developed. The operation is dedicated to selling slag aggregates from existing slag <br /> piles that were created in the early 1900's (See Figure 3-Aerial Slag Stockpiles)consequently there are <br /> no. <br /> • Overburden removal activities. <br /> • New waste rock stockpiles,or <br /> • Other related mining events outside of aggregate crushing, screening, stockpile removal and <br /> transportation. <br /> Site drainage is illustrated on Figure SWMP-4. The Facility is a"no-discharge"CPDES Facility which <br /> alleviates the need for a facility point discharge permit. <br /> Stormwater will be managed in accordance with State regulations and approved permit stipulations. <br /> Located within the permit boundary are: <br /> • Mine office, <br /> • Truck scales, <br /> • Designated aggregate storage areas, <br /> • Designated snow storage areas, and <br /> • Culverts,fences,gates,pipelines, and power lines. <br /> Haul roads will be upgraded, and stormwater management control features will be maintained to allow <br /> access for emergency vehicles, haul trucks. Upgrading features will include environmental control <br /> measures(ECMs) such as,debris basins,ditches, swales, berms, culverts, and check dams.
