There has already been established a somewhat
winding course from south to north. The elevation of this will remain very close to its current elevation. Looking closer it appears the
course gets steeper close the north end and that is true. Thus the north end will be elevated so it is a few feet lower than it is here. This
small pond sits in a nearly level area in the course. Last year it was about twice this size in spite of 2020 being a very dry year and this
year quite wet. It is thought that in 2020 the subsoils became so depleted of water that even with nearly double normal precipitation this
year, surface ponding is less than last year because much of the precipitation this year has so far gone to replenishing the deeper sands
and clays. If the moisture continues these small ponds and puddles may become larger. In the reclamation this location is expected to be
the first of two sediment basins with the other at the outlet. This site has excellent potential for becoming a small wetland.
