Chemical analyses of overburden and
interburden strata of the overburden core holes are provided in Voume 17 Exhibit 6, Item 9.
Exploration Test Boring Results Summary
The data from the drill and core holes for the exploration program in the Collom area showed that the
geologic conditions in the Collom pit area are no different than that currently found in the active Colowyo
mining area east of the Collom area. Since the geologic conditions of the Collom pit area are similar to
the active Colowyo mining area, the data from the Collom overburden sampling is examined using the
current Colowyo reporting requirements to the Division. The results of the Collom overburden sampling
and analysis are part of the ongoing overburden sampling program at Colowyo. For additional
information on overburden characterization please see Volume 15, Section 2.05.3(6).
During the handling of overburden in the current mining area, Colowyo monitors the overburden for three
parameters. These are pH, sodium adsorption ratio (SAR) and Electrical Conductivity @ 25° C (EC).
The reporting limits for these constituents are:
• pH - Between 5 and 9
• SAR - > 15
• EC ->12
The plan for the Collom operation is to mine to the Gb seam. The overburden characteristics of the six
previously named overburden holes are presented in Exhibit 6, Item 9 (Geology Exhibit 3, Overburden
Chemistry). An examination of the overburden characteristics of each core hole, down to the Gb seam,
against the limits shown above exhibits the following:
Collom — Rule 2, Page 17 Revision Date: 4/7/17
Revision No.: RN -07
