Note: Outside the boundaries of the Sand and Gravel Yard, remove ONLY raw material from piles of
stone placed around the farm during farming operations, and from the surface of the farm fields.
Place in stockpiles in basin(s) or move directly to the feeder(of the crushing and screening plant)
and process. Work closely with farming personnel to load and transport surface rock(and rock in
piles) to the Yard.
j. Continue operations on an intermittent basis until sufficient rock (as determined by the Landowner)
has been removed from the fields.
k. When all rocks are removed from fields and piles, processed and removed, mine the central area of
the Yard, process, remove, and begin reclamation (See map, Exhibit Q.
4. Scheduling and production (6.3.3.(a)): Commence mining in the Spring of 2021 (anticipated), once snow
is gone and ground is capable of supporting equipment.
a. End mining (and sales of products from stockpiles on the permit area) in about 10 years, completed
by the Fall of 2031, assuming demand will be sufficient. Length may range from 4-10 years.
b. STATEMENT OF INTERMITTENT OPERATION: The operator may, due to demand, weather and
elevation, be unable to use the affected lands for at least one hundred eighty days per year, but
anticipate operating (excavation, processing, shipping) within one year of any temporary cessation
of operations, and materials will remain stockpiled on the permit area.
c. Excavate and process up to 97,000 cubic yards(121,000 tons) in the Yard itself, shipping up to
100,000 tons over the estimated 5-10 years. The amount of rock to be gleaned from the fields and
farmer's piles is difficult to estimate, but expected to be up to 240,000 CY(290,000 tons)to move
and process, producing up to 260,000 tons of construction material, some of which will be used on
the Schoen Farm. (Generally, 50,000 to 100,000 tons will be processed each time the portable plant
M2020-062 Schoen Farm 110c Application by O'Rourke Excavating, Inc. Exhibits Page 6 of 21
