IMC-2 Quarry
Area has been a quarry but hasn't been mined in many years. Quarry walls are steep and will need to be
reduced to gentle gradient, either through mining or simply highwall reduction.
No reclamation has occurred in this area.
Slope reduction: blasting and grading with D8 or equiv.,4,000 CY @ $1.00/CY.
Slope finish grading:4 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Pit floor grading: 2 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Seedbed prep (all areas): spread medium and rip, D8 or equiv. w/ripper, 3 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Seeding(all areas): 2.5 acres @ $1,000/ac.
IMC-3 Quarry
Area is currently being backfilled as part of final reclamation. Backfilling is not complete; approximately
1,000 CY additional material is needed (available as it is generated onsite).
Haul backfill material: Cat 830 loader, 12-yd dump truck, 6 hrs @ $150/hr.
Spread material: D8 or equiv., 2 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Finish grading and seedbed prep: D8 or equiv.w/ripper,4 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Seeding: 1.0 ac @$1,000/ac.
MQD-1 Dump (West Dump)
After all stockpiled crusher fines have been removed from this area (and placed in other areas for final
reclamation),final reclamation will begin. Slopes are currently approximately 2:1, but are ready to be
graded to 2.5:1. Grading will be done on fill slopes on the west and south, and the native hillslope on
the north.
A small portion of the area must remain unreclaimed to allow continued access into the Mica Pit. After
the Mica Pit is reclaimed and equipment access is no longer needed, reclamation in this last part of the
dump area may be completed.
Most of the area's existing surface material to be graded consists of satisfactory growth medium. It is
estimated that about one acre will require growth medium to be hauled in and spread.
The Road 38313, along the south edge, is permanent and will remain after reclamation.
Slope reduction: D8 or equiv., 3,500 CY @ $1.00/CY.
Haul growth medium:Cat 830 loader and 12-CY dump truck, 1,000 CY @ $1.50/CY.
Spread growth medium: D8 or equiv., 6 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Finish grading: D8 or equiv., 8 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Seedbed prep: D8 w/ripper, 6 hrs @ $100.00/hr.
Seeding: 6.0 ac @ $1,000/ac.
MQHW-1 (West Hiehwall)
The highwalls on the southwest, west, and northwest sides of the pit are presently configured in rough
walls and benches, by drilling and blasting. Further drilling and blasting and extraction will be required
to attain final configuration, since the highwall overall is presently steeper than the final reclamation
gradient.
Final slope configuration (for stability and MSHA requirements)will be 40-foot tall walls at 1.25H:1V,
alternating with 25-foot wide,gently-sloping benches. It will take a number of years to fully complete
this highwall, since it is mined only in response to demand.
