MQED-4(East Dump)
Area:4.67 acres.
This area extends from the mouth of the Mica Pit toward the IMC-1 Quarry and the PMD-5 Dump.
All usable material has been extracted and crushed out of this area. The south face still needs to be
sloped. The permanent road along the south edge will continue to be used throughout the reclamation
stage.
Area A
Area: 1.15 acres.
This affected area lies south of Road 38313, and has not been disturbed in many years. There are no
stockpiles or equipment there, and the site is considered reclaimed.
Pit Lake (Mica Pit floor)
This lake/pond will receive some oversize material as backfill, from the adjoining highwall areas. It is
expected that the pond will remain as a permanent feature. Since it existed before 1981, no
augmentation plan is required.
Additional description of this area is included above, under East Highwall and West Highwall.
Stockpile Pad
This named area is now fully included in the MQD-1 Dump and East Dump areas, described above.
Staging Area
This named area is now fully included in the MQD-1 Dump and East Dump areas, described above.
Road 383B
Area: 2.08 acres; length of segment in permit: 3560 LF.
This is a public road extending from the SW corner through the length of the permit to the NE corner. It
has been utilized throughout the life of this mine and such use will continue. The permittee provides
adequate maintenance of the segment of road lying within the permit. The road is a permanent feature
and will remain after final reclamation is completed. (The operator's minor onsite roads will be
reclaimed.)
