The unit volume for the 3:1 slope is 10.42 yds/Ift so approximately 25,720 yards has been used to build the slopes around the west and south side of the existing mine area. In the amendment area there will be 1,960 If of sloping and at 15 feet average height W5G will need 20,425 yards of fill to complete sloping. This leaves approximately 126,785 excess overburden left for other uses. As noted above there is adequate growth medium on site to replace the soil at the average depth that exists now of five (5) inches. No overburden will be converted into soil. The operator is not required to import growth medium onto the site unless they failed to save that which existed prior to mining. The Walsenburg Sand and Gravel Company has salvaged all soil from the areas where it existed and will continue to do so as mining moves into the amendment area. 6.4.12 Exhibit L - Reclamation Costs 6.
