Siberia Project Area:
The project area sits at the bottom of the ridge. Any erosion comes down to this point!
We will be monitoring the erosion and make needed changes to prevent UUD issues.
This Project Area is divided into 4 areas of reclamation:
1) Portal Grate—Access control will be given back to BLM/DRMS via universal master
lock and Miners Mall will remove their lock.
2) Area of Disturbance around the Grate—This is mostly barren since the grate was
installed in 1996. Based on erosion observations during the life of this project,
Miners Mall will report their finding to the DRMS for suggestions on post-mining
reclamation (IE: adding a layer of mulch, seed, then topsoil.)
3) Support Area—This area will be dismantled; and the area will be mulched, seeded
and a fine layer of soil added. This area is currently housing a large brittle prickly-
pear cactus colony.
4) Trails—All trails leading to the hand ripped, mulched, seeded, and then turned to
lock in mulch and seeds. Overseeding of the trail edges will be done every 2 years,
so that as trail traffic decreases, seed banks will be created.
Siberia Project Area will have NO waste rock or storage piles. All material will be
removed offsite for processing. There will be NO cubic yards of anything to move during
reclamation.
Enriched soil can be brought down from Midway Project if DRMS determines that soil
needs to be added to any part of the Siberia Project Reclamation.
