Details for reclamation per Project Area:
Ridgetop Project Area: The largest vertical offset is the west edge of the area of disturbance
consisting of bedrock granite protruding above an 1890s vertical shaft that was filled with
debris. This vertical offset is approx. 8 foot tall. Before operations, 2 feet of this"old wall" was
exposed, making the slope from west to east at a ratio of 10 feet horizontal to 3 feet vertical.
There is a 20-foot-long clear area east of that to the next existing tree. We will be removing
most of that"high wall" when we expand the Ridgetop AOD under the new permit. It is our
intent to:
1) Fill the 40 foot deep pit with waste rock from the waste rock storage pile.
2) Move un-enriched soil, from under waste rock pile and support area. This soil will
be enriched as it is moved by dismantling the certified weed-free straw bales and
mixing with the soil as it is moved.
3) Optional: Material may be moved from the Midway Project to fill in any voids. This
is NOT anticipated but is planned for!
4) All disturbances will be "capped" with the existing enriched soil from the soil
storage pile. The final contour of this area will mimic the original contour mention
above from west to east at the same ratio, but slightly terraced.
5) Waste rock and Soil Storage areas will be reclaimed, as well as the Support Area.
These will be leveled and terraced as needed.
6) During Final reclamation,we will wait until fall to the last mulching and overseeding
with the remaining certified weed-free straw bales. This will be raked in and
additional straw bales will be brought in if needed.
7) Trails—All access trails will be hand ripped, mulched, and seeded. At the present
time, the BLM does not want us to reclaim the upper access historic road that leads
from BLM-297 to the claim edge.
8) We would like to move a few pinion or juniper seedlings to areas directly over the
deep cuts. The softer soil will allow for fast tree growth.
9) Monitor—We will be happy to provide photo and/or written reports on the status
of the reclamation on whatever frequency the DRMS deems necessary.
Ridgetop Project Area Current Stats:
Waste Rock=98 cubic yards
Soil Storage= 225 cubic yards
Anticipated Ridgetop Stats:
Waste Rock= 225 cubic yards
Soil Storage= 275 cubic yards
