LI RAY SILVER NI ES
20. DAMS Comment:Revegetation (seeding) of the vent shafts is not specifically mentioned.
However AM-], PAR 2, Table L-1 states all topsoiled areas will be seeded. TR-11
reclamation plan specifies that the backfilled shaft areas will be topsoiled. Please clarify if
seeding of the shaft areas will occur and if so the application type, rate, and if mulching will
be applied.
OSMI Response: See response to Item 6 and the updated Reclamation Plan. The Monogahela
Shaft in Governor Basin will be reclaimed using native materials and rock to blend in with the
native landscape. This area will not receive topsoil or seeding. The other two shafts, the Yellow
Rose and the 360 will be seeded via broadcast seeding.
Site Grading to 2:1
21. DRMS Comment:Please provide the number of cubic yards to be moved, material
type%onsistency, push distance and grade for each major area to be re-contoured. Previous
calculations have used a total of 47,000 CY with no indication as to where this volume came
from. The Division will consider overburden replacement and general site grading as the
same task. If volumes change depending on mining phases also give the volumes per area in
terms of mining phase.
OSMI Response: The contours shown on Maps 17-1 and F-la are the existing contours with the
exception of the TSFs. The TSFs are built to final reclamation grades. There are no plans to
regrade at the site. This line item was removed from the bond calculation in Exhibit L.
22. DRMS Comment:Previous calculations have accounted for backfilling of sediment ponds 2
and 3. Given that these ponds are part of the water treatment system this seems impractical.
Is there any site grading remaining specifically for the areas around the ponds for final
reclamation configuration?
OSMI Response: There are no plans to backfill or regrade sediment ponds 2 and 3 as both
ponds were constructed to blend in with the existing contours at the site.
23. DRMS Comment. In the reclamation plan pocking is mentioned. Where will this surface
roughening be applied, how many acres, how big/frequency of the pocks?
OSMI Response: Reseeding will be applied via broadcast seeding. The reference to pocking has
been removed.
Topsoil/Cap Rock Application
24. DRMS Comment:Provide the total number of acres to receive topsoil at each Tailing
Storage Facility(TSF). Will any other areas require topsoil application?
OSMI Response: The Revenue TSF will receive 2.1 acres of topsoil, and the Atlas TSF will
receive 1.2 acres of topsoil.
141Page
