Site Description (cont) Exhibit B
PERMANENT MAN-MADE STRUCTURES
A private dirt road and the 4 strand wire fence along the
west side, are the only structures within 200 feet of the af-
fected lands . The Clennin' s own the road that crosses their
property and the fence along the west side . The east-west fence
between the Meredith and State Land properties were installed by
and maintain by the lease holder, Austin Clennin. There are no
above or below ground communication or power lines, bridges,
wells, pipelines, water storage impoundments, railroad tracks,
cemeteries or communication antennas within 200 feet of the
affected lands .
WATER RESOURCES
There are no water structures on the site . The closest
stream is the Little Graneros Creek that at its closest point is
approximately 1 . 5 miles northwest of the site . The floor of the
mine will be approximately 127 feet above the creek. Review of
well records for the area in the State Engineers well database on
the surrounding areas indicates the water table is more then 500
feet below the floor level of the mine . The closest well is
approximately 2500 feet east-southeast of the permit area . The
top of the well is approximately 266 lower then the mine floor
and the water level is almost 550 feet below that .
For this reason, mining will not reach the ground water
table . We will not affect the hydrologic balance of surface or
subsurface water in the area . No water will be used at the mine
for processing, if needed for dust control it will be purchased
from a local fire department or city and hauled to the mine .
The exact amount to be purchased is unknown at this time, we
estimate that under normal conditions approximately 2 acre-ft per
year or 5, 000 gallons per truck load will be needed. The water
will be purchased for a local municipality, either the City or
Walsenburg or Colorado City from sources approved for this use .
AUSTIN& BETSY CLENNIN- BECKER PIT May 7, 2020
20
