It <br /> has proven successful where used on other land in the vicinity of <br /> the mine . The seed will be drilled where possible and doubled if <br /> broadcast . The site is currently part of a terrace deposit <br /> located in a Loamy Foothills range site unit south of Colorado <br /> City, Colorado . It has no special or unique characteristics with <br /> mostly grass, on the flat areas and bare ground or brush covering <br /> the outer face of the mesa . <br /> The average annual production is approximately 1400 pounds <br /> per acre . The plant community is 75 percent grasses and 25 <br /> percent brush and trees . The species of vegetation found on the <br /> mine site are Western wheatgrass, Blue grama, Griffith wheatgrass <br /> and Green needlegrass . Woody vegetation found on the site con- <br /> sists of Mountain mahogany, One-seed juniper, Mountain muhly, <br /> Pinyon pine and Gambel oak and are confined to the slopes along <br /> the east edge or canyon heads that border the mesa .
