ENVIRONMENT, INC. PAGE 3
L.G. EVERIST, INC. - RAGSDALE RESERVOIR ADEQUACY RESPONSE O 1
MAY 6, 2020
as well. Because of the revisions to the Mining Plan Map the locations shown are approxi-
mately where they would be placed prior to the area being mined.
Slurry wall for Phase 3 , and the slurry walls located in the
eastern part of the permit are not shown.
The reason is that during the moment in time of the "snapshot", the slurry walls had only
been installed around Phase 1 and 2. The new map shows all slurry wall locations
There is no description in the legend for the hatch pattern shown
in Phase 1A/2A.
The hatch you note is in the backfilled areas that were part of the "snapshot" mining plan.
However, since we have changed this "snapshot" map with a Mining Plan Map that shows
all areas being completely mined out at the same time (which would never happen), I have
not added the hatch pattern in question to the revised Exhibit C-1 Mining Plan Map because
those areas that were backfilled are now shown at their ultimate mining time period.
Because so much of the mining plan and configuration of the final
reclamation plan depends on the configuration of the existing
utilities, and which ones will be removed/relocated as mining and
reclamation progresses; please provide a separate figure with
table that highlights the utilities within the areas to be mined,
a description of what they are, who owns them, and how they will
be dealt with. It would probably be most useful to break this out
by mining phase.
I prepared a map (EXHIBIT C-2 - STRUCTURES MAP) showing just the permit boundary
and any structures on or within 200 feet of the permit area with a Table for each Phase.
The table lists the structure, the owner' name and what will happen to it during mining. In
most cases, the non-Cannon Land structures will remain undisturbed. The Cannon Land
structures will be removed as provided for in the operating agreement between L.G. Everist
and Cannon Land Company. Most of the structures to be removed or relocated are oil and
gas structures, possibly including wells, facilities and flow lines that are associated with old
wells that have been shut-in and are in the process of being plugged and abandoned.
The heavy hatched line in the south end of Phase 1 is inconsis-
tent between the mining and reclamation plan maps - please edit
as needed.
The heavy hatched line you note on the Mining Plan Map is the road around the reservoir. I
have fixed it on the new map. At one time, L.G. Everist, Inc. was going to mine around the
Platte Valley Irrigation Company land and I forgot to move it once they received the Source
of Legal Right to Enter with the agreement to mine that small piece.
EXHIBIT D - Mining Plan (Rule 6 .4.4) : It is not explicitly stated
in the application, but DRMS assumes based on the information
provided that Phases 1, 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 and 6 will have slurry walls
installed prior to dewatering/groundwater exposure, and that
Phases 1A, 2A, 4A, 4B, and 5A will be wet mined. Please confirm
if this is correct .
