MINING PLAN EXHIBIT C
1. General Mining Plan
Map E-2 shows the mining plan for the Hooper Pit. The pit will serve as a material source for
road construction work on Highway 17, immediately west of the pit. Mining will disturb 7.4
acres of the 9.5 acres delineated on Map E-1. Map E-2 shows the setbacks along the affected
area to protect the local fence and canal. Mining will occur to a depth of 10 feet. Sand and gravel
will be mined and hauled offsite for use as fill on Highway 17 to the west.
Access to the site will be from CR 62,via an existing gravel road east of the pit. Map E-2 shows
the access.
Topsoil is salvaged from the disturbed area. The topsoil thickness is expected to range from 0-28
inches, and thus will be stripped to an average depth of 14 inches. Topsoil will be stockpiled in a
berm along the south and west sides of the excavation area(See Map E-2). The topsoil in this
berm will be used for reclamation.Any additional topsoil that is stripped will be stored in the
area designated for topsoil storage on Map E-2. Any topsoil stockpile in place more than 30 days
will be seeded with the reclamation seed mix to prevent erosion loss of soil.No overburden is
present on site, so none will be stripped or stockpiled.
The operation will exist as long as raw material is needed for the road construction job. The
construction job is expected to be complete by the end of Summer 2020. Reclamation can then
occur in the fall of 2020. The pit will be regraded to 3H:1V slopes, or gentler, in a manner that
restores to general drainage pattern of the site.
No groundwater will be exposed during mining.
Hooper Pit C-1 j/
April 2020 JI\ Greg Lewicki and Associates,PHA'
