When mining ends the <br /> area will be reclaimed during the next highwater cycle . If this <br /> does not occur when The Walsenburg Sand and Gravel Co. is ready to <br /> close the mine any working faces or excavated area in the channel <br /> will be graded 3h to lv and the floor smoothed. Shortly after <br /> mining ends and the stockpiles have been removed on the upland <br /> areas, all resoiling and revegetation will be complete . The mine <br /> area will then be monitored for success of revegetation until it is <br /> released by the Board. The operator estimates that this will <br /> happen 3 to 5 years after mining is completed. <br /> If revegetation problems occur before release, an analysis of <br /> the site will be made and the area will be revegetated again as <br /> necessary. The seed mixture and rates may be revised as needed to <br /> complete reclamation, if a modification is required, the Division <br /> will be notified prior to making the change .
