RECLAMATION PLAN (coNT) EXHIBIT E
September 2019
(3) The affected land will be monumented for easy delineation:
Painted posts have been set on all corners of the new permit area.
Rule 6 .4 . 5
Note: Paragraphs 1 and 2 parts (a) thru °) are missing from the
2002 amendment . Much of the information required in these sections
were covered in the responses to rule 3 . In particular, all slope
grading needed on mined areas will be 3h to lv. Topsoil will be
salvaged and replaced as needed prior to seeding but no topsoil is
available within the creek channel . The proposed final reclamation
end use is rangeland, matching the current use and surrounding
areas . When mining ends on an area above the channel the working
face will be graded 3h to lv if this is going to remain undisturbed
for more then two years .
(d) Where applicable, the operator/applicant has developed plans to
segregation, preservation, replacement, compaction and grading of
soil used for revegetation.
The revegetation plan will contain a list of the preferred species
of grasses to be planted as recommended by the field office of the
NRCS . The approved seed mix is provided below. Seedbed preparation
has been covered in Section 3 . 1 . 10 of this application.
(e) The schedule of reclamation on the upland areas will closely
follow the mining and the operator expects to start reclamation as
soon as feasible after mining has been completed on any given area.
Under normal conditions the operator would expect to have vegeta-
tion ready for release within a 3 - 5 year period. This sequencing
will allow for the floating bond of 25 acres .
The final grading also will be done in conjunction with mining. All
backsloping, day lighting and contouring will be done as mining
progresses . This land will be used for grazing cattle as a final
land use, and all of the NRCS recommendations will be done .
Topsoil will be replaced at between 6 and 9 inches on all disturbed
upland areas that would not be disturbed by flooding in the creek
channel .
The following Seed Mixture is approved for use at the mine . It is
the 2002 recommendation from the NRCS at 601 . S . Albert, Walsenburg,
Colorado 81089 .
20 (REVISED 3/6/2020)
