EXHIBIT G
WATER INFORMATION
There is one well on the site. It is a commercial well rated
for 300 gpm is owned by The Walsenburg Sand and Gravel Co. . The dry
stream bed of Sand Arroyo bisects the site from southeast to west .
The new areas being added are outside this channel and will not
impact groundwater or affect surface waters unless mined. The
following information was reproduced from the 2002 application
packet and information was added as appropriate for the new area
being added.
(1) Since this is strictly a dry pit operation, no surface or
groundwater shall be required for evaporation loss replacement
water.
(2) Since this operation will not affect surface or groundwater
systems, items (a) (b) and (c) are not necessary for this
application. However, the following information is being
submitted as a matter of course to verify this position.
(a) The map shows that Sand Creek is the main part of this
permit acreage and the only water course . Neither are
there any springs or reservoirs on the affected lands or
adjacent lands . The Walsenburg Sand and Gravel Co. has
a well on site that supplies water to the Batch Plant
for minor dust control . It is covered by Permit #12262F
Water case #W0464 and is shown on the Map Exhibits .
(b) There are no known aquifers to be identified.
(c) There will be no dewatering operation involved in this
operation. Sand Arroyo will continue to flow through the
area as it has done historically. A Stormwater Discharge
Permit and associated Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP)
have been developed for the operation.
(3) There will be no water requirements as stated previously for
the development, mining and reclamation phases of this opera-
tion.
(4) The applicant does not need a U.S . Army Corps of Engineers 404
Permit to mine within in the dry creek bed. A letter from the
Corps of Engineers has confirmed the lack of necessity for
said permit .
