MINING PLAN (CONT) EXHIBIT D
September 2019
limited washing done and water for the Concrete Plant if needed.
(i) One of the primary reasons to amend this 112 operation is
to enlarge the minable land available in the permit area so no
ground water will be encountered. Surface water will not be
intercepted or disturbed but will flow uninterrupted downstream
as it has done historically. Mining will not affect the quan-
tity or quality of the surface or groundwater systems . There
will be no proposed dewatering, sediment containment, chemical
treatment systems, storm water run-off controls, of groundwater
points of compliance . No ground water will be encountered on
the upland areas .
(j ) Colorado water laws and regulations governing injury to
existing water rights will be complied with. There will be no
evaporation from impoundments or diversions, nor from exposed
ground water areas will be on the mine . Water used for pro-
cessing from the well is covered by an augmentation plan as
outlined in Water Case #W0464 .
(k) No refuse, acid or toxic producing materials are created
during mining of this sand body or the upland terrace deposits .
(1) As explained earlier this will be a dry pit operation which
by its nature eliminates any disturbance to the hydrologic
balance . There will no activities to cause off-site damage . A
stable configuration of the reclaimed area will be part of this
operation as the end product will be a dry arroyo . The upland
areas that are not reclaimed by flooding will be graded,
recoiled and seeded with the approved seed mix.
(m) In most cases, the sand will be processed on-site . How-
ever, some processing may take place at various off-site areas
approved for that activity. The upland material will require
some processing by screening, but no chemicals will be used.
Most like a portable plant will be moved in and used to process
material in the upland area
(n) The primary commodities to be mined/extracted are limited
to sand and a small amount -6" rock. It will be used only for
construction aggregates or road base materials and fill . No
secondary products will be produced.
10 (REVISED 3/6/2020)
