In catastrophic situations, electrical/maintenance personnel, in conjunction with the ERT, <br /> will assume responsibility for all main property and main building disconnects. <br /> 5.23.5 The master power substations, MCC rooms and the emergency power require the skills and <br /> knowledge of electrical personnel. <br /> 5.23.6 Only trained Electrical, Maintenance or Process Operations personnel are responsible for starting <br /> emergency power. <br /> 5.23.7 The Mine department has portable light plants available for use. Black Hills Energy 1-800-694-8989 <br /> 5.24 Off Site Support Training and Drills <br /> 5.24.1 Off Site Response: <br /> (a) Newmont will respond to off-site medical/accident emergencies when requested to do so, <br /> subject to the availability of the proper equipment and expertise and Management approval. <br /> (b) The decision to respond to off-site accidents, injuries, fires and chemical or hazardous <br /> material spills, if requested, is the responsibility of the General Manager or his designee. <br /> (c) Should the landowner(DOT, BLM or etc.) request the help the request will be in writing and <br /> the requestor should give permission for assistance and cleanup. <br /> (d) Response will not be given until there is certainty about legalities. <br /> 5.24.2 Newmont's response will be limited to "first responder" status. Professional help should be called <br /> to terminate the emergency. Emergency transportation may be provided to meet the professional service <br /> enroot if the situation warrants. <br /> 5.24.3 In the case of a transportation accident involving injury and a hazardous material spill, the first <br /> priority must be the safety of the employees. The decision to respond should be based on knowledge of <br /> the material spilled and the ability to help the injured without placing anyone in danger. <br /> 5.24.4 Support for Responding to Emergencies: <br /> 5.24.4.1 Newmont Sites: <br /> Newmont personnel are responsible for the initial, technical and specialized response to onsite <br /> emergencies. <br /> 5.24.4.2 Area Mines: <br /> Newmont will work with area mines in developing mutual aid agreements.
