CCV Emergency Response Plan <br /> NORTH/AMEP/CA <br /> 5.22.5 After the quake: <br /> (a) Quickly assess your area for secondary emergency situations such as fires, chemical spills or <br /> explosions. If there are injuries or other emergencies requiring response teams, report the <br /> situation as described on front page. (Please be aware that help or medical aid may not be <br /> immediately available). <br /> (b) Do not perform any activity that may cause a spark, including lighting of matches. <br /> (c) Evacuate the area, if either your location is unstable or you are notified to. <br /> (d) Upon evacuation, move upwind (and uphill if possible) of all facilities. <br /> (e) Anticipate subsequent aftershocks. <br /> (f) Have maintenance personnel inspect and isolate utilities. <br /> (g) Site Emergency Response Teams will be activated for major earthquakes or other natural <br /> disasters to assist departments with inspections of areas to insure they are safe. <br /> (h) Maintenance and engineering personnel should inspect areas for any damage that could <br /> pose a threat to personnel. <br /> (i) Only after maintenance inspections are completed and the results are reviewed with the <br /> respective Superintendent(s), will personnel be allowed to return to buildings. <br /> 5.23 Emergency Utilities Shutdown <br /> 5.23.1 The utilities that will be considered under emergency shutdown are: <br /> (a) Propane/Natural Gas <br /> (b) Process Water <br /> (c) Fire Water <br /> (d) Compressed Air Systems <br /> (e) Electrical <br /> 5.23.2 The shutdown of these utilities in catastrophic events remains the responsibility of the <br /> mine/process facility maintenance personnel in conjunction with the Emergency Response Team. <br /> 5.23.3 Utility Emergency Shutdown: <br /> The following personnel are able to shut off main supply disconnects in the utility areas if they <br /> properly trained to do so: <br /> (a) Propane/Natural Gas: <br /> (1) Main tank control panels: Mine Maintenance Personnel, Process Maintenance/Process <br /> Operations Personnel <br /> (2) Main property distribution shut-off valves: Maintenance Personnel, Process <br /> Supervisor/Operator <br /> (3) Main building feed valves: Mine/Process Maintenance/Process Operations personnel, <br /> Area Supervisor, Emergency Response Team members. <br /> (b) Fire Water System <br /> (1) Main supply valves at water tank(This will be done only on a management decision): <br /> Maintenance Personnel, Process Supervisor, Emergency Response Team <br /> (2) Main Building Shutoff: Process Maintenance/Operations personnel, Area Supervisor, <br /> Emergency Response Team <br /> (c) Process Water System: Handling of hazardous materials is of prime consideration in <br /> process shutdown (i.e., pH balance for cyanide). <br /> (1) Main supply valves and pumps: Process Operations personnel, Process Maintenance <br /> personnel <br /> (d) Electrical System <br /> (1) Main transformers, MCC room building master closures: Electrical Personnel <br /> Department THIS DOCUMENT IS UNCONTROLLED IN HARD COPY FORMAT Doc Id:NA-CCV-HSLP-PLAN-1775 <br /> Health Safety&Loss Prevention Date of Tbis Issue:25 June 2018 Date of Next Review:25 June 2019 Page 33 of 38 <br />
