ResponseCCV Emergency <br /> NEWMONT <br /> NORTH5.24.6 Suppliers and Carriers: <br /> (a) Suppliers and Carriers are required to supply an Emergency Procedure Plan and Training <br /> Program to Newmont for approval. <br /> (b) Suppliers and Carriers responsible for transporting hazardous material must provide that <br /> vehicles and drivers meet or exceed all DOT rules and regulations regarding the <br /> transportation of hazardous material. <br /> (c) Suppliers, carriers and governmental agencies bear the primary responsibility to respond to <br /> hazardous chemical spills of their product prior to reaching Newmont mine sites. <br /> 5.24.7 Public Sector: <br /> (a) Newmont will work with Local and State Emergency Planning Committees in developing <br /> mutual aid agreements. <br /> (b) Response to offsite emergencies requires a request from governmental agencies and <br /> Newmont management approval. <br /> 5.24.8 Annual Training Program: <br /> (a) This Plan can only be successful if Training Programs are instituted. <br /> (b) The main goal of the training programs is to prepare personnel in general and the members <br /> of the Emergency Response Team of Newmont Operations, to be able to act efficiently, <br /> speedily and safely during an incident. <br /> 5.24.9 Training for Employees: <br /> All employees will receive training on pertinent sections of their Site Emergency Response plan. <br /> 5.24.10 Training for Management: <br /> (a) Site and Regional Rapid Response teams will receive annual training in use of the Newmont <br /> Rapid Response process. <br /> (b) All supervisors and lead men will receive training on the contents of their Site Emergency <br /> Response Plan. <br /> 5.24.11 Carriers and Suppliers: <br /> Suppliers and Carriers responsible for transporting hazardous material must provide proof of <br /> required DOT training regarding the transportation of hazard material. <br /> 5.24.12 Emergency Response Team Training Program: <br /> Each of the courses described must have a purpose, performance objectives and training <br /> objectives.
