CCV Emergenc% Response Plan <br /> NORTH AMEPICA <br /> (e) The area supervisor shall notify dispatch or mill control. <br /> (f) Upon notification of a fire, the water truck operator shall immediately travel to the fire area. <br /> (g) The area supervisor shall be responsible for summoning the help needed to extinguish the <br /> fire. <br /> (h) All personnel not assigned to specific jobs must keep clear of the area. <br /> (i) Equipment on which there has been a fire or a suspected fire shall not be operated until an <br /> investigation has been conducted by both the supervisor and the Maintenance department. <br /> (j) All fires and suspected fires must be reported to the area supervisor. <br /> (k) It is the supervisor's responsibility to investigate the fire and report to the HSLP Department <br /> and the Maintenance department on all equipment fires. <br /> 5.13.7 Chemical Fires: Before using water, identify the chemical using the Emergency Response Guide. <br /> * Note: Some chemicals react with water. <br /> 5.13.8 Range Fires: This section covers range fires on mine property. <br /> (a) Rangeland fires are by their nature dangerous and unpredictable events that should be <br /> treated with great respect. <br /> (b) Other than the obvious, threats arise from heat effects, smoke inhalation and oxygen <br /> deprivation. Any range fire on mine property should be immediately reported to the area <br /> Supervisor. <br /> (c) The area supervisor shall be responsible for summoning the help needed to extinguish the <br /> fire if necessary. <br /> (d) All responses to the fire will be coordinated by the Area Supervisor and the Production <br /> General Foreman. <br /> (e) The HSLP Manager or his designee shall notify all landowners in the vicinity who might be <br /> affected by the fire. <br /> (f) The Site Manager should be notified of any major fire, or a fire that threatens life or mine <br /> property. <br /> 5.13.9 The main aim in responding to a rangeland fire is to: <br /> (a) Report it to Teller County Dispatch, 719-687-9652 or call 911 <br /> (b) Evaluate the danger to personnel and infrastructure. <br /> (c) Continual monitoring of the fire for direction, speed, size, smoke, etc. <br /> (d) Allocation of resources as needed. <br /> (e) Evacuate to a safe place accounting for all persons on site. <br /> (f) Help with fire in area as situation warrants and as directed by site management. <br /> 5.13.10 LPG Tank Fire Procedure: <br /> (BLEVE) Rupture and subsequent fire at the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG)Tank. <br /> (a) The first priority is to be directed towards saving lives, regardless of whether company <br /> property is at risk.
