Standard Operating Procedure <br /> Heavy Equipment fueling <br /> NEWMONT <br /> Operations <br /> 5.4.5 If a lube truck is present, before entering the fuel island make radio <br /> contact with J3. <br /> 5.4.5.1 Enter only with positive 3 way communication with the lube <br /> tech. <br /> 5.4.5.2 Lube Tech will direct advancement to fueling location with <br /> signal lights. <br /> 5.4.6 If no Fuel technician is present proceed to the first fuel bay. <br /> 5.4.7 If needing low volume fuel contact the lube truck. No heavy mobile <br /> equipment will fuel at low volume pump behind the fuel island. <br /> 5.4.8 Enter and exit the fuel island safely at all times. <br /> 5.4.9 Lower all implements to the ground. <br /> 5.4.10 Properly chock equipment and lock out the transmission. <br /> 5.4.11 Stand next to the pump shut off during the fueling process. <br /> 5.4.12 Report and clean any fuel or oil spills immediately. <br /> 5.5 Supervisors will <br /> 5.5.1 Ensure that equipment operators and fuel techs are properly trained for <br /> fueling procedures and have all up to date paperwork. <br /> 5.5.2 Notify operators when changes have been made to fueling procedures. <br /> 5.5.3 Ensure that these procedures are being followed safely and address any <br /> concerns immediately. <br /> 5.5.4 Operations supervisor will make sure the fuel shack is properly stocked <br /> with supplies, (disposable rubber gloves, lint free cloths, hand wipes, <br /> trash bags, paper towels, cleaning spray) <br /> 5.5.5 Maintenance supervisor, Operations supervisor or a designee will perform <br /> a work area inspection before equipment uses Fuel Island. <br /> 5.5.6 Check for all lights working in fuel island area to assure proper <br /> illumination. <br /> 5.5.7 Check for snow and ice removal and adequate ice melt when necessary. <br /> 5.5.8 Perform safety inspection on hoses for damage or imperfections prior to <br /> use. <br /> 5.5.9 Have all spills cleaned up immediately and entered into Cintellate. Spills <br /> inside the containment area under the storage tanks will need to be <br /> addressed with the S&ER group to make sure the liner is not disturbed. <br /> 5.5.10 In case of a power outage, the back-up generator will be utilized to <br /> provide power.
