Spill .. <br /> CountermeasuresNEWMONT •r the Cresson Project <br /> Sustainability& External Relations <br /> • Petroleum Products- Diesel,gasoline, kerosene, lubricants,greases, oil-based solvents,fuel-additives, <br /> sludges, used-oil,and oil mixed with other substances as defined in 40 CFR 112.2,copies of which are <br /> available through Environmental Resources; <br /> • Sodium Hydroxide(NaOH); <br /> • Hydrochloric Acid (HCI); <br /> • Sodium Cyanide (liquid)and Cyanide Solutions; <br /> • Sodium Hypochlorite; and <br /> • Calcium Hypochlorite. <br /> This Plan also serves to meet the requirements of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety <br /> ("DRMS")for a Materials Containment Plan (in reference to the Carlton Tunnel Permit)and applies to other <br /> hazardous and non-hazardous substances not listed in 40 CFR Part 125, but present at the Cresson Project <br /> operation. Major chemicals include: <br /> • Antifreeze; <br /> • Antiscalant; <br /> • Ammonium Nitrate(blasting agent)and Blasting Emulsions;and <br /> • Lime. <br /> A more complete list of bulk products stored on site are included in Tables 3-10.The substances listed in each of <br /> the Tables must be managed based on the principles in this Plan and the specific characteristics of the substance. <br /> This Plan is the guide for prevention and expedited control of"releases"of the above-listed substances to ground <br /> or waters when such releases are the responsibility of CC&V.CC&V does respond to releases that may occur as a <br /> result of a contractor or other activity conducted on CC&V property under a lease or contractual arrangement.Any <br /> contractor or other authorized activity should include clear and enforceable requirements for that other entity to <br /> have an acceptable SPCC Plan and to have control and response procedures in place. <br /> This Plan is to be used by CC&V Team Members to assist in responding to, containing, remediating and recording, <br /> and reporting responses to releases.
