Replacement or protection of metallic objects is subject to the approval of <br /> the CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> 3.3. Cleaning <br /> All form materials and debris resulting from construction shall be disposed of as directed by <br /> MANAGER. <br /> 3.4. Curing <br /> A. General: <br /> 1. Concrete shall be protected from loss of moisture for at least seven (7) days after <br /> placement. <br /> 2. Curing may be accomplished with water or a curing compound. <br /> 3. Water or curing compound shall be applied to formed surfaces within one (1) hour <br /> of form stripping. <br /> B. Water Curing: <br /> 1. Water saturation of unformed surfaces shall begin as quickly as possible after initial <br /> set of the concrete. <br /> 2. The rate of water application shall be regulated to provide complete surface <br /> coverage with a minimum of runoff. <br /> 3. Concrete surfaces shall not be permitted to become dry during the curing period. <br /> C. Curing Compound: <br /> 1. Curing compound shall be spray-applied at the MANUFACTURER'S recommended <br /> coverage rate. <br /> 2. Unformed surfaces shall be covered within 30 minutes after final finishing. <br /> 3. Curing compound shall be protected against abrasion during the curing period. <br /> 3.5. Schedules <br /> CONTRACTOR shall notify MANAGER at least forty-eight (48) hours before each concrete <br /> placement. <br /> 3.6. Field Quality Control <br /> A. Concrete testing will be performed by CONTRACTOR. <br /> B. Four standard 4-inch diameter by 8-inch long test cylinders shall be prepared for every <br /> 50 yards of concrete placed or for each placement, whichever is greater, at the <br /> discretion of the MANAGER, DESIGN ENGINEER and CERTIFYING ENGINEER. <br /> Page 4 <br />
