NEWMONT
GOLDCORP.
The most recent amendment was submitted to the DRMS in December of 2016 as Amendment
12, which modified the boundary and added approximately 6 acres to the affected lands boundary.
1.2 General Permit Narrative — Amendment 13
The activities associated with Amendment 13 are summarized below with more detail provided in
the attached exhibits and appendices. In general, only new activities proposed as part of this
Amendment 13 are discussed in detail. Those activities include:
• Add VLF2 Phase 3 to the processing area;
• Modify the mining and backfilling sequence for the Schist Island mine area;
• Modify the footprint of the Squaw Gulch Overburden Storage Area to make room for
VLF2 Phase 3 construction;
• Update Environmental Protection Plan (Exhibit U); and
• Incorporate practices approved under various Technical Revisions since the last
permit amendment.
The timelines presented for active mining, ore placement, milling, continued recovery,
neutralization, reclamation, and other activities are approximate and are based on anticipated
production rates, process, mining fleet, and crusher availability, gold price, gold recovery, and
many other factors. As such, these approximate timelines may change and result in a shorter or
longer overall mine life.
1.3 Other Modifications or Approvals
CC&V also is pursuing approval of an amendment to the Cresson Project Mining Development
Plan with Teller County for Amendment 13 under the Teller County Land Use regulations.
Additional information prepared for Teller County may include:
• Visual Effects Analysis
• Traffic Review
• Noise Analysis
• Lighting Impacts
• Historic Structures
This information is included in a package that is being submitted to Teller County for final county
approval.
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Amendment 13
2
Project Description
