NEWMONT
GOLDCORP
As reported on September 17, 2019, CC&V collected third quarter compliance groundwater
samples from monitoring wells GVMW-22A, and GVMW-22B, GVMW-25, and VIN-21B on August
27, 2019. CC&V received the lab report for these analyses on September 12, 2019, and upon
review, determined that GVMW-22A exceeded established numeric protection limits for fluoride,
and GVMW-25 exceeded established numeric protection limits for sulfate. Table 2 below lists the
exceedance for the location and the associated parameter.
Table 2.
Table
Location Sample Date Parameter Value NPL(mg/L) Standard
(mg/L) (mg/L)
GVMW-22A 8/27/2019 Fluoride 2.11 2 2
GVMW-25 8/27/2019 Sulfate 341 250 250
As reported on September 18, 2019, CC&V collected third quarter compliance groundwater
samples from monitoring wells PGMW-3, CRMW-3B, and CRMW-3C, on August 28, 2019.
CC&V received the lab report for these analyses on September 16, 2019, and upon review,
determined that PGMW-3 exceeded established numeric protection limits for aluminum,
cadmium, copper, manganese, nitrate as N, nitrite+nitrate as N, and pH. It was also determined
at CRMW-313 exceeded established numeric protection limits for fluoride, and manganese.
